Can an officer search my vehicle without permission?

Return to FAQ Videos
Transcript:

An officer cannot search your car without a warrant unless you give permission to an officer to search your vehicle. However, there are certain exceptions to this rule. An example, if an officer pulls you over and issues you a citation for running the red light but then smells marijuana in your vehicle an officer is entitled to search your vehicle. If you are not sure whether or not your Fourth Amendment rights were violated contact our office for a free consultation.
